Unfair

Two years back, I got unfairly passed over for a promotion at work, in the name of "experience", they said, its not how much work you do that counts but for how long you've been doing it.

That's when this was written. I also voiced my concern to my manager and 2 months later I was given the raise! So speaking up definately helps..

Life is unfair on many grounds
At many levels in many rounds
You do your best but thats not enough
For those who win will cheat and bluff

For something that i believed in body and soul
The return on investment has left me cold
Thank-you for all your hard work they say
But your peers are the ones we'll pay

While assigning work, you come first
But when assigning dues we'll make you thirst
All said and done i didnt get my due
Let that be known as my point of view

They say everything happens for the good
But to know when and where I'm not in the mood
In life i think one should have a blast
The real workers will always finish last
